PolyGenerating Solar Collector's Alliance (PolyGen Alliance)
The PolyGen Alliance is a collaborative initiative established to support knowledge exchange and innovation around integrated hybrid solar technologies. The Alliance brings together researchers, industry stakeholders, and innovation actors working on polygenerating solar collectors capable of simultaneously delivering multiple outputs such as heat, electricity, hydrogen, and solar-driven environmental processes. While significant progress is being made at the component level, major challenges remain in system integration, scalability, performance assessment, and real-world deployment.
PolyGen Alliance was created as a flexible and evolving platform to encourage collaboration, exchange experiences, identify research gaps, and connect expertise across disciplines and sectors. Its focus includes hybrid solar systems, solar-to-hydrogen processes, industrial solar applications, integration with water and wastewater systems, modelling and validation methodologies, and broader deployment challenges.
The initiative aims to foster dialogue between research and application while supporting the development of more integrated, efficient, and scalable solar energy solutions.
